Types of acrylic nails
Acrylic nails are the new definition of fashion and glamour in the beauty world, and pretty much anyone with eyes can see that. For those who don't know about Acrylic nails, don't worry I got you. We are also going to discuss about different types of Acrylic nails you can see, so stay till the end.
Acrylic nails or Artificial nails (also known as fake nails, false nails, fashion nails, nail extensions or nail enhancements) are the extensions placed over fingernails as fashion accessories. These are basically nail enhancements made by combining a liquid acrylic product with a powdered acrylic product. Two products (known as a monomer and a polymer) together form a soft ball that can be fashioned into a nail shape. After a nail technician applies this acrylic to a client’s nails, the material hardens and becomes much stronger. And then it can be buffed and filed to the customer’s liking.
If you love history and like to research at deeper deaths then you would also like to know Who invented acrylic nails? These were first developed in 1934 by a dentist named Maxwell Lappe. He created these artificial nails so that the nail-biters can curb their habit. Nobody could have guessed, it would become such a huge fashion statement in recent decades. You have to consider the fact that chemists have developed much better techniques to make acrylic nails look more natural, and they didn't limited themselves to particular horizon (type), we can see various types of Acrylic nails (artificial nails) too. It is safe to say that this beauty treatment still has such an enormous staying power to this day.
Their are several types of false or artificial nails but their is only one type of Acrylic nails (they do have different shapes and sizes but we shall come to that later). Each type has it's own strengths and weaknesses. Their focus is to create the look of natural fingernails. All of them requires a lot of maintenance to keep them looking fresh and natural over time. Fun part the availability of a wide selection of colors and designs also makes them fashionable.
Acrylic nails are created over nails in two ways. Both involves mixing a polymer powder with a liquid monomer and applying it over your nail. This special mixture starts setting within 20 to 30 seconds and will become completely hard within fifteen minutes.
Tips are used to glue lightweight nail-shaped plastic plate pieces at the end of your nail then the entire nail is covered with the acrylic mixture while it is carefully shaped.
Forms are fitted on the nail and are used to mold an artificial nail out of the acrylic mixture. This form is then removed so the nail can be shaped properly and buffed to give a glossy shine.
In french manicure, tips and acrylic powders are available in the ever way of French manicure style (it may be tan or pink and white) along with other sparkles, a variety of colors, contours, along with some given “special effects”. People can choose to have nail polish applied to their finished nails or have the color built into their nails themselves. Acrylic nails are the thickest, strongest and most durable of all the artificial nails.
As we have talked about different types of Acrylic nails it will be wrong of me to not talk about different shapes which are available in market and also few popular of them. Fun part of having acrylic nails is that it allows you to try different shapes more easily as the nails are strong enough to maintain the shape without breaking. If you try a shape that you don’t like, it’s also pretty easy to change by filing your nails, so trial and error is not a problem at all.
1. ROUND ACRYLIC NAILS :-
To have very simple, more natural look, you can go with this shape. As it is fairly easy to maintain and looks best on shorter nails is also perfect for everyday wear.
2. SQUARE ACRYLIC NAILS :-
It is another very classic look, the square shape. One can keep their nails at any length with this shape and they shall still look great. They are perfect for holidays and family events.
3. OVAL ACRYLIC NAILS :-
The oval shape is a bit thinner than the round and it is more modern. It is definitely new and one can wear every day or on occasion anyway you like.
4. SQUOVAL ACRYLIC NAILS :-
Somewhere between square and oval, one can achieve this look by rounding the corners of their square nails. Many people with acrylic nails feel that this look is more natural but still gives the effect of a square nail, it is perfect for both everyday wear and holidays.
5. Almond Acrylic Nails
To have an almond-shaped nail means that the shape will get thinner, as it gets to the top of the nail. It won’t come to a point, however, it will just be rounded at the tip, and it is perfect for date night.
6. COFFIN ACRYLIC NAILS
It is a favourite among acrylic nail fans, the coffin shape is super popular and is sported by many celebrities (like Kylie Jenner). They’re like almond-shaped nails, except at the tips they come to a straight-line square, which is perfect for a night out with the girls.
7. STILETTO ACRYLLIC NAILS :-
To achieve the stiletto shape, you will need to have your nails filed to a point at the tip. This looks best on long nails and is perfect for the newly single girl looking to mingle.
